Fed: ADF gains best capability to conduct overseas operations

CANBERRA, Feb 3 AAP - New amphibious landing ships, supply ships and helicopters will
give Australia the best ever capability to mount operations far from home, Defence Minister
Robert Hill said today.
In a speech to a maritime conference in Sydney, Senator Hill said the first of the
planned new vessels, a replacement for the ageing tanker Westralia, should be in service
next year.
