Fed: Business urges govt to push on with reform
Australian business has urged the federal government to push on with its reform agenda
in 2000, focusing particularly on changes to industrial relations and the welfare system.
The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also called for further restraint
on public spending and no more increases in official interest rates.
Chamber chief executive MARK PATERSON says Australia's growth rate is slowing, the
investment has flattened out and the current account is now six per cent of GDP.
