Flooded cental Qld will still get drought aid: Truss
Central Queensland's drought-hit farmers will remain eligible for federal drought assistancedespite devastating floods.
Federal Agriculture Minister WARREN TRUSS promised they'd still be able to apply forExceptional Circumstances funding after talks in Rockhampton today.
He met with local mayors, primary producers and Queensland Primary Industries MinisterHENRY PALASZCZUK as flood waters continued to besiege parts of the region.
A spokesman for Mr TRUSS says the talks clarified the situation on drought assistance.
The minister has promised his government will accept full Exceptional Circumstancesapplications for the central Queensland region despite the rains.
