FED:Early whale hunt end welcomed

Sea Shepherd founder PAUL WATSON says Japan's decision to end its whaling season this
year early is great news .. and a great victory for the whales.

Australian Greens leader BOB BROWN says it's a historic day and he's even suggested
the Sea Shepherd crew should be given an Order of Australia.

Australian Environment Minister TONY BURKE has welcomed the news .. saying there should
never be another whaling season again .. while Opposition environment spokesman GREG HUNT
has called Japan's decision a good start .. but wants a permanent end to whaling in the
Antarctic.

The Japanese government confirmed yesterday it's cutting short this season's hunt ..

citing harassment from environmentalists .. and raising hopes Tokyo will permanently end
whaling.
