Ath: Romanian holds big lead
Romanian runner CONSTANTINA TOMESCU has opened up a big lead in the Beijing Olympics
women's marathon.
At the 30-kilometre mark .. she was 71 seconds clear of the chase group of 10 runners
.. which included world record holder PAULA RADCLIFFE of Britain.
The three Australian competitors BENITA JOHNSON .. KATE SMYTH and LISA WEIGHTMAN are
further back.
The race is being run in cool conditions with light rain falling.
