MOSCOW -- JSC "COMSTAR - United TeleSystems" ("Comstar UTS") (LSE:CMST), the leading provider of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS, today announced that it has completed the purchase of 824,353 GDRs representing 0.1972% of its stock at an average price of $6.8500 per GDR for the total amount of approximately US$ 5.6 million.
This purchase was made as part of the Company's share buyback program, approved by the Board of Directors earlier this year. The GDRs will be held as treasury stock and will be used to meet the company's obligations under its employee stock option plan.
