VIC:Short cuts sought in ANZ class action

The federal court has called on an international accounting firm to help it with a
50 million dollar class action against the ANZ bank .. launched by more than 27 thousand
customers over alleged fee gouging.

During a preliminary hearing in Melbourne today .. Justice RAY FINKELSTEIN questioned
a representative of ANZ's accounting firm Deloitte .. which will undertake forensic accounting
investigations linked to the case.

Class action lawyers Maurice Blackburn are claiming the 50 million dollars for fees
the banks charged .. including dishonour fees .. over limit fees and late payment fees.
