NSW:Attempted murder charge after stabbing

SYDNEY, April 25 AAP - A man has been charged with attempted murder after an inner-Sydney
stabbing.

Police and emergency services were called to Devonshire Street in Surry Hills after
a 46-year-old man suffering stab wounds was found there about 1.30am (AEST) on Monday.

The man was in a stable condition after undergoing surgery for wounds to his torso, police said.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at a house in nearby Goodchap Street about 1.45am (AEST).

He was taken to Surry Hills police station where he was interviewed and charged with
one count of wounding with intent to murder.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Parramatta Bail Court later today.

Both men are from Surry Hills.
